The purr-fect news has arrived! The 2026 Australian Firefighters Calendar has officially launched, and cat lovers everywhere will be thrilled that the beloved Cat Edition is once again leading the charge.

This year's calendar pairs Australia's bravest heroes with adorable rescue felines, making it the must-have item for every cat owner's wall.

For 33 years, this annual tradition has combined stunning photography with a powerful, charitable mission: to support animal welfare, disaster recovery, and first-responder wellbeing across Australia. The 2026 edition continues this legacy.

Your Favourite Felines Take Centre Stage!

The always-popular Cat Edition is back, featuring candid and charming moments with playful felines and their handsome, heroic co-stars. It's the ideal way to bring some joy to your home while supporting critical causes.

This year's release comes in five distinct editions, so you can pick your favourite (or collect them all!):

  • Cat Edition: Candid and charming moments with playful felines.
  • Dog Edition: Firefighters paired with rescued dogs of all shapes and sizes.
  • Mixed Animal Edition: Koalas, farm animals, birds and more.
  • Horse Edition: A tribute to rural resilience and the human–equine bond.
  • Hero Edition: Powerful solo portraits of Australia’s bravest.

A Tradition of Giving Back to Animals

The calendar is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for causes that matter, especially animal rescue. The 2026 calendar celebrates Australia’s firefighting community while raising funds for five essential organisations, including a vital animal rescue service:
  • Safe Haven Animal Rescue: This organisation receives funding for shelter operations, foster placement, veterinary care, and adoption programs that help homeless animals—including countless cats—find permanent, loving homes.
The calendar also supports four other critical organisations: the Byron Bay Wildlife HospitalSouth Australian Native Animal RescueKids With Cancer Foundation, and CAVFA.

Making a Real Difference for Wildlife

The impact of the calendar's donations is profound. Support for organisations like Wildcare Incorporated in the Northern Territory helps them continue their work rehabilitating and releasing native animals, including many smaller marsupials and birds often preyed upon by domestic animals.

Furthermore, the funding for the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital directly enables rapid response to wildlife emergencies and extended recovery services for injured and orphaned native animals.

Dr. Stephen Van Mil, Founder and CEO of the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, praised the calendar’s support, noting its vital role in opening and running state-of-the-art facilities like the Byron Bay Raptor Recovery Centre.
