CPSV recognised as Cat Friendly Clinic for the third year running

Purrfection recognised: Cat Protection Society of Victoria earns third consecutive cat friendly accreditation

For the third year running, the Cat Protection Society of Victoria (CPSV) Vet Clinic has been recognised as a Cat Friendly Clinic by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

The certification highlights CPSV’s dedication to providing the highest level of care in a calm and stress-free environment for every cat that visits the clinic.

CPSV Practice Manager Caitlyn Corrigan said that only a small number of clinics in Victoria hold this accreditation, and CPSV is the only recognised clinic in the state whose care is solely dedicated to cats.

“Our team is proud to be cat-approved and we are honoured to have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to putting our feline friends first,” Caitlyn said.

"We prioritise a calm environment using gentle and low-stress handling techniques during consultations and treatments, supported by a dedicated team of vets, nurses and receptionists who receive ongoing education.

“We offer comprehensive facilities for dentistry, surgery, X-rays, blood tests, and hospital care. Our cat-focused waiting room is designed to provide a calming experience for cats, complemented by resources to help owners reduce stress before vet visits.

“We really do everything we can to make sure both cats and their owners are in the safest hands when it’s time for care.”

Within the veterinary division of the charity International Cat Care, the International Society of Feline Medicine granted the accreditation, reflecting its commitment to advancing feline care standards worldwide.

According to International Cat Care, an accredited Cat Friendly Clinic ensures staff understand cats' needs, handle them gently, and provide a more cat-friendly vet experience with the right knowledge and equipment.

“We’re honoured to receive international recognition as a Cat Friendly Clinic, continuing our 75- year legacy of providing a safe haven for felines. Cats from all across Victoria are welcome here, and we're dedicated to ensuring our feline friends stay happy and healthy,” Caitlyn said.

The reaccreditation follows the launch of CPSV’s Santa Paws Appeal encouraging businesses, corporations and Victorian cat lovers to share some Christmas spirit and donate to cats in need, advancing efforts for cat care.
